2fifty2— Coming from Luke 2:52 “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people,” 2fifty2 is a place for youth (6th-12th grade) to develop a faith identity within the United Methodist theology.  This year’s topics include UMC beliefs, creation of Youth Sunday (Dec 4th), Hot Topics, and Relationship.  Come join Karyn and Gary Gillan after the 10:30 service in the “Pit” (rm 7) for food, fellowship, and discussion.

Youth Choir  Youth Choir includes 7th through 12th grade students.  We sing a variety of styles and utilize the various strengths and talents of the students in singing and instrumentation.  We generally sing the third Sunday of each month.   Our rehearsals begin after the 2nd morning service from 12:15pm-12:45pm.  We usually meet each Sunday except on holidays or Spring Break.  Our last performance is on Graduation Sunday in June.  There is ongoing communication and much input for ideas from the students in arranging or even writing music.  It is a real privilege to encourage each other while we practice and others in their faith during the worship service.  Contact melodyjoymusic@gmail.com for more information.

Youth Group— Almost every Sunday at 6-7:30pm from Sept –May, the youth (6th-12th grade students) of United Methodist Church of the Dunes meet to fellowship, to join in games and activities, to participate in faith practices, and to journey towards being mature Christians.

This year in Youth Group we will be learning about Generosity—what it means and applying it to our lives.  By learning Generous Hospitality, Generous Encouragement, Generous Compassion, Generous Sharing, and Generous Forgiveness, we will be embarking on an adventure greater than ourselves.

Feb 5th—1/2 Super Bowl Party
Feb 10th-12th—Youth Media Fast Retreat “Practicing Generosity”
April 15th—Baking Cookies
May 20th—Messy Party

Youth Group will also include several movie nights and a once a month “Fest” (a potluck and games for youth AND their families).  Come join us for a year full of adventure!
